The Passyunk Homes were possibly the poorest public housing projects in Philadelphia and probably the most isolated. It was located south of the I-76 East approach to the Walt Whitman Bridge and to the north and west of Penrose Avenue, and east of the 25th street train tracks and Sunoco Oil Refinery. It's long since been demolished after falling into disrepair and also deemed an environmental hazard due to a leak in the oil tanks it was built above. It's now being redeveloped into luxury town...
